MARTIN 1942 00-18 ACOUSTIC.

  • CONDITION: VERY GOOD+.
  • TOP: Solid Adirondack spruce top with original scalloped bracing,
  • BACK/SIDES: Solid Mahogany.
  • F/BOARD: Rosewood.

This guitar is a one owner instrument, it was purchased in the States from the original owner and is a very nice sounding instrument and in lovely condition, it looks like a ten year old guitar, not sixty. This is the real McCoy vintage Golden Era Martin, scalloped bracing and Adirondack spruce top. All original except for what looks to be a newer saddle; no top cracks or pick wear. Some heavy weather checking on the neck (the owner lived in Florida and I think all the humidity caused the checking and bit of milky finish on the back of the neck). Had newer tuners on, but originals were in the case so they where put back on. Buttons have shrunk a bit but are not cracking. Very slight enlargement of post holes, noticeable really only on the D tuner. Neck angles great. Finish is all original. Original hardshell case, which is also in great condition. It's a very nice little guitar!. Pre-war Martins which have been as well looked after as this one are getting very hard to find and are a great investment.
